Messages that arrive instantly
Conversations update live on every device you are signed in on. No refreshing, no waiting to see a reply.
Photos and files
Send images, PDFs and everyday documents up to 20 MB. Only the people in the conversation can open them.
A username, not a phone number
People find you by the username you choose. Your phone number and contact list stay out of it.
How it works
Three steps, and none of them involve uploading your contacts.

Create your account
An email address and a password. Then choose the username people will use to find you.

Find someone
Search by username and open a conversation. There is one conversation per pair of people, so you always return to the same thread.

Start talking
Type, attach a photo or a document, and send. Your message appears on their device as it is delivered.
Private, described precisely
Every conversation is readable only by the people in it. That is enforced on each individual request by the database itself, not by application code that could be bypassed — and it applies to messages and to attached files equally. Files are stored privately and served through links that expire.
We also do not use your conversations to train anything, and we do not sell them.
What WITHRA does not claim
- WITHRA is not end-to-end encrypted. Messages are encrypted in transit and at rest, but they are not encrypted such that only you and the recipient hold the keys. We will not describe the product as end-to-end encrypted until it genuinely is.
- We do not claim zero knowledge. A messenger that says nobody can read your messages should be able to prove it. WITHRA cannot yet, so it does not say it.
If any of this changes, this page changes with it.
About the AI part
WITHRA is not an AI chatbot, and there is no assistant reading over your shoulder. Today, no AI touches your conversations at all.
The name points at where this is going. We think there is real value in intelligence that a group can call on deliberately — something you invite into a conversation, that everyone can see is present, and that you can remove. That is a feature we intend to build, with consent at the centre of it. It does not exist yet, and we would rather say so than imply otherwise.
